Big steps day yesterday!

Well, partly they were steps, as I finally ventured out for the first 3.5 km run this year. My tight seem to have liked the rest I gave it last weekend and a few sessions of yoga this week made me work on different muscles for a chance and yesterday I was ready for a run.

My shins not so much. I was happy that I got my breathing in tact to be able to extend my runs to 20-30 mins without a break, but my shins struggle, so I took 2 walking breaks in between the runs and I recon I need to do some more exercises to strengthen my shins before I’ll be able to run longer distances again. Maybe even add some cycling routine to change things round.

As for other activities that bumped my steps to such a great amount - I went all out on my front garden hedge 😂 I received a letter from the council asking to trim it, as it obstructs the pathway.

My default was to roll my eyes and then stress about it. My gardener has been very unresponsive in the winter season and he replied to my last text with a 1.5 months delay. I texted him, but having a 2 weeks deadline to deal with it made me somewhat stressed that it won’t happen on time, so I decided to inspect my shed for the right tools to do it myself.

Lo and behold, the hedge trimmer which I thought was dead turned out to be fully operational and the longer ladder also made the work much easier. It was tricky at first, as the trimmer is heavy and my arms were really struggling with lifting it high enough and ladder was a bit shaky, but I managed to find the flow in it all and went a bit over the top with trimming that poor bush.

It was a bit dark by the time I was finishing with it and I didn’t quite realise the big hole I’ve made in the middle of it 😂 Oh well, the pathway is clear now, so one thing off the to do list is now ticked off and I don’t need to stress about it. If my gardener does reply soon-ish I’ll still have a job for him to do - take all that rubbish I cut off the hedge away!

Until next walk 💙

Oh wow you been pretty active. The run is a good thing a few more and maybe you won't need a walking break. Hopefully the shins get stronger and no more pain there.

Well good you took care of garden hedge it's good getting things knocked off the to do list. Hopefully your gardener replies soon so you don't have more to add to the list.

Take care 💙💙 and keep doing healthy things Monica. Have a great rest of your weekend 😊

It was an active weekend, but somehow I thought I’d feel better after ticking those things off the list, yet my anxiety started creeping in again 🤷🏻‍♀️

Up and down I go Bob. Physical activity helps though, so that’s one thing I’m sticking with no matter what.

For sure the physical activity helps. I got plenty of it as well shoveling for 15 inches of snow we got over the weekend.

It was a long weekend as I got a cold day off of work on Friday and Monday was a holiday. Much time inside as temperatures had the feel of -40 with wind.

Take care Monica 💙
